A phrase we may have heard is something like, ‘Don’t do what I do, but do as I say.” Perhaps as followers of the way, we should switch the wording to: Don’t necessarily do what I say, but instead, do as I do. We’re told in Sunday’s reading from Ephesians (5:8-14) that we are to live as Children of the Light. We aren’t only to talk about living as God’s children, we are to live as God’s children.
Another phrase that comes to mind is “Talk is Cheap.” It’s often easier to say something than to actually do that very thing! Even so, we are to be the Doers!
