Those who travel often find themselves spending much time researching and planning. We want to know about the destination. We want to pack the appropriate clothing. We want to understand the customs. We want to know our financial needs. In other words, we want to be ready. And yet, in Luke 10:1-9, we see Jesus sending the disciples out to prepare people for Jesus’ visit. They were to take no money, no sack, no sandals — nothing. Most of us would quake at the thought! And, might we also fear sharing Jesus with strangers? And yet, we too are called to do this. We may not need to say a word. What do people learn by seeing how we live our lives, about how we move through the world? Do we live our faith?
