In Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-12, we read that Abraham lived his life by faith. When he was told to go, he went. When he had to live in tents, he did. When he was told he would have a child in his old age, he may have chuckled, but he didn’t question. He lived by faith.
Could we accept and just go like he did, or might we question? Where am I to go? Why am I living like this? A child? Are You sure about that? Apparently, he didn’t question. The bags were packed, and off he and his family and servants went.
Notice, not only did he not question, but it appears he didn’t consult the scriptures. He didn’t review all of the laws. He didn’t consult with his Rabbi. Instead, Abraham seemed to have an inner knowing and a deep trust in God. He had great faith.
