Dear Antioch Family,

I wish to extend my gratitude to every person who embodies the spirit of motherhood. We celebrate all who nurture, guide, and bring life into the world—not only through birth but also through compassion, wisdom, and the gift of presence.

Since our founding under the inspired leadership of Archbishop Herman Spruit, the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch has boldly affirmed the feminine aspect of God. Our theology reflects a profound truth: God is both Mother and Father, both infinite mystery and intimate embrace. In God, we find the fullness of all beings—male, female, and beyond.

We honor the Divine Feminine—present in Sophia, the Wisdom of God; in Shekinah, the indwelling glory; and in the Holy Spirit, who moves over creation with nurturing power and sacred love.

This is not just a celebration of earthly mothers—it is a theological affirmation of God’s maternal nature. When we see tenderness, protection, strength, and sacrifice in those who mother, we are seeing a reflection of the Divine.

To all who mother—in body, in spirit, in community—thank you. You show us what God looks like.

May you be blessed always by the Holy Spirit, our Divine Mother, who cradles us in compassion, wisdom, and peace.

Bishop Mark
